A Wellness Check-Up for the
October 14, 2017, Denver
A question often asked of economists is, “How is the economy doing?” Unfortunately, there is often no easy answer to such a question. What evidence do economists use when asked to deliver an economic health check-up? What data are most telling? What statistics are most confounding? To what extent is there agreement on how healthy the US economy actually is? Is there a consensus on what storm clouds are on the horizon? What could be done to forestall trouble? Our esteemed and longtime instructor Dr. Dale DeBoer will help us get up to speed with the current state of the US economy. Tim Sheesley, chief economist from Xcel Energy, will be a guest speaker. And as always, you will participate in and receive some lessons from a mentor teacher that you can bring back to the classroom. You’ll want to share these insights with your students.
