Economic & Personal Finance Programs for Teachers

Economic Literacy Colorado is the only nonprofit in Colorado providing K-12 teachers with professional development and classroom enrichment opportunities to prepare students to achieve personal financial sustainability and self-sufficiency. ELC uses a three-pronged model in its professional development programs. University professors provide content and knowledge, mentor teachers deliver the pedagogy with grade-appropriate lesson plans, and K-12 teachers walk away with high-quality instructional materials and hands-on activities for use with their students. ELC classes are open to all teachers throughout Colorado from public, private, charter, online and home schools providing professional development programs for every grade level.

Customized Virtual In-Service Training

In addition to our open enrollment programs, Economic Literacy Colorado is eager to work with individual school districts to provide virtual teacher in-service trainings. We’ll work with you to create a workshop in economics and/or personal finance that fits your needs and is convenient. Please contact Jay LeBlanc, Education Program Director, at 303-752-2323 or jay.leblanc@econlitco.org.

Virtual Rural Outreach Program

Economic Literacy Colorado is excited for the opportunity to expand our reach in Colorado to rural communities. We recognize how challenging it is for teachers all around Colorado to attend our open enrollment classes in Denver. So, we invite you to request a virtual professional development workshop, either as groups of independent teachers, as school districts, or through regional BOCES. We’ll do our best to come to you with a workshop in economics and/or personal finance. Please contact Jay LeBlanc, Education Program Director, at 303-752-2323 or jay.leblanc@econlitco.org.
