The Role of International Organizations in the Economy: Why Do We Have Them and What Do They Do?, November 4 | Hybrid (Colorado Springs/Online) | Accredited
Dr. Khan has worked as a consultant with the World Bank for several years. She also teaches international economics and economic development, bringing in the role of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and World Trade Organization into her classes. The missions of these Post WWII organizations and others such as the United Nations and the lesser-known Bank for International Settlements differ, and yet have common threads that aim towards international harmony and economic development. How do these organizations provide international rules and cooperation? How have they evolved over time and been influenced by economic thinking, and in turn, influenced economic ideas? Teachers will be exposed to the wealth of information and resources on countries that these institutions offer.
