The Paradox of Thrift: How much savings is good for you and the economy?, April 27 | Hybrid (Denver/Online) | Accredited
J.M. Keynes popularized the notion that while savings may be good for you, it can easily be bad for the economy. This seminar explores the questions of what savings is, how much savings there should be, how savings is determined, and how savings plays a role in both personal finance and the state of the economy? By combining economic theory with historical evidence, a picture of appropriate savings decisions (for both the individual and the government) will be developed. Good connections to ECON and PFL standards on savings and managing money at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.
