A presenter will deliver a one-class-period presentation to help students and teachers understand investing, why financial investments are good vehicles for investing, and how the markets work. Note: A mentor or presenter is NOT: a. An instructor on the workings of the platform—they are not responsible for knowing how the platform works. That information is covered in the teacher training videos on the econlitco.org website and in videos accessible on the platform under “Teacher Resources” and “Tutorial Videos.” Teachers are responsible for using the resources provided to learn how to use the platform. ii. A stock or investment picker. Mentors are not supposed to suggest investments. They are supposed to offer explanations of what a student’s idea is, how to analyze it, how it may be expected to perform, appropriateness in the context of long-term investing etc. (e.g. GameStop had the potential for making or losing lots of money, but in the context of long-term investing it was not a good choice because fundamental analysis indicated it headed for bankruptcy and there was no turnaround story.)
