The Economics of Relationships, November 9 | Hybrid (Denver/Online) | Accredited

Economics provides tools and a mindset to help us understand the world, from broad things like economy to everyday life. This class will explore how economics can be used to better understand—and perhaps optimize—relationships!

We will cover relationships with pets (power, agency), friends (gains from trade, assumptions of economic agents), and romantic partners (reference point, efficiency, equity). We will also apply graphs and models to analyze changes in trends over time—such as strength of social connections and marriage rates—to gain a deeper understanding of how and why relationships are changing in our own time. If you are curious how economics can be used to better understand the relationships that make up our daily lives and how economic concepts relate to them, join us for this class!
