Ethics, Economics, and Social Issues (a revised curriculum from the Council for Economic Education), November 11 | Denver (in-person only) | Accredited

Help your students to think critically about ethical issues and understand why ideas of right and wrong are vital to economic decision making. In this collection of lessons, students will create and support an argument for or against a sweatshop boycott using primary and secondary sources; consider perspectives related to whether or not businesses have a social responsibility; play the roles of doctors and patients, demonstrating the motives of self-interest, duty, and character in economic transactions; learn how their bias impacts their decision-making and research.  Based on an updated series of lessons from the Council on Economic Education.

Grades: Secondary Teacher Focus (ideal for teachers in grades 6-12, but all K-12 teachers are welcome)

However, it is our STRONG belief that the content from any of these classes is valuable for the professional development of any teacher, will enhance the understanding of ALL teachers, and will inspire creative applications in individual classrooms. We encourage teachers of all grade levels to attend any of our classes.
