The Economics of Housing Policies, October 14 | Denver (in-person only) | Accredited

This class from the Foundation for Economic Education (working with our friends at the Georgia state council) is based on a lesson series on housing policies in the 20th and 21st centuries.  Topics in the lessons will include redlining of the 1930s and its’ continuing impact today; consumer laws and federal agencies; using an amortization calculator to make informed buying decisions; reading loan estimates; the impact of highways on housing (and vice versa); and supply/demand in the housing market. This series of lessons also includes the lesson “Future You: A Cost of Living Comparison Lesson” which won a Bronze Curriculum Award from the National Association of Economic Educators this past year.

Grades: Secondary Teacher Focus (ideal for teachers in grades 6-12, but all K-12 teachers are welcome)
